MultiCare is hiring a Remote Workplace Accommodation Specialist to manage ADA accommodation requests, lead the interactive process, assess medical documentation, partner with HR and Legal, and ensure compliant workplace accommodation administration.

Job Description

The Workplace Accommodation Specialist serves as a subject matter expert for disability-related workplace accommodations and leads the full interactive process from intake through resolution. This role manages a complex caseload of accommodation requests while ensuring timely, fair, consistent, and compliant administration under ADA, ADAAA, PWFA, applicable state and federal leave laws, and related accommodation frameworks.

The specialist partners with employees, leaders, HR, Occupational Health, Safety, Legal, Workers’ Compensation, Labor Relations, IT, and Facilities to evaluate accommodation options, assess feasibility, reduce organizational risk, and support employee success. This position requires strong judgment, empathetic communication, legal compliance knowledge, and rigorous documentation aligned with EEOC expectations.

### Key Responsibilities

* Manage accommodation requests from intake through closure
* Assess essential job functions
* Gather and evaluate medical documentation
* Determine reasonable workplace accommodations
* Lead the ADA interactive process
* Facilitate discussions with employees and leaders
* Ensure compliance with ADA, ADAAA, PWFA, EEOC guidance, and state leave laws
* Identify and escalate complex or sensitive cases
* Maintain confidential and compliant case documentation
* Partner with HR, Legal, Safety, Employee Health, Workers’ Compensation, Labor Relations, IT, and Facilities
* Provide coaching to leaders and HR partners
* Support consistent accommodation decision-making
* Maintain accurate case records
* Support training on ADA and accommodation practices
* Analyze case trends and recommend process improvements

### Requirements

* Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Social Services, or related field, or equivalent experience
* 2+ years managing ADA/accommodation or related HR casework
* Working knowledge of ADA, ADAAA, PWFA, EEOC guidance, and relevant state laws
* Strong interpersonal skills
* Ability to manage sensitive and confidential matters
* Strong documentation skills
* Strong judgment and problem-solving ability
* Ability to manage a complex caseload
* Ability to collaborate across multiple departments
