GreenPath Financial Wellness is hiring a remote Financial Wellness Expert to provide phone-based financial counseling, review client financial information, create action plans, and support clients with debt, credit, housing, and collections concerns.
Job Description
The Financial Wellness Expert provides compassionate, non-judgmental financial counseling to clients nationwide through remote phone-based services. This role supports individuals and families facing financial challenges such as credit card debt, mortgage delinquency, collections, bankruptcy, foreclosure, rental concerns, and credit issues.
Specialists gather and review client financial information, analyze credit reports, develop personalized action plans, explain available programs and fees, and provide financial education. This role also includes housing-related counseling services, including pre-purchase counseling, foreclosure prevention, rental counseling, post-loan modification coaching, and reverse mortgage counseling.
This position requires strong communication skills, confidentiality, empathy, customer service ability, and the willingness to obtain HUD and NFCC certifications during training.
### Key Responsibilities
* Provide phone-based financial counseling to clients nationwide
* Respond to inbound calls and client emails
* Conduct outbound service-related calls
* Gather, review, and analyze client financial information
* Review credit reports and financial documentation
* Develop personalized action plans and educational resources
* Support clients with debt, collections, mortgage delinquency, and credit concerns
* Discuss program options and fees when appropriate
* Provide housing counseling, including foreclosure prevention and rental counseling
* Maintain accurate client records
* Protect confidentiality of client financial information
* Complete required training and maintain certifications
* Collaborate with colleagues to support service quality
* Meet schedule, productivity, and service expectations
### Requirements
* Full-time availability for 40 hours per week
* Ability to work assigned evening schedule and biweekly Saturday rotation
* Willingness to obtain HUD and NFCC certifications during training
* Typing speed of at least 40 WPM with 80% accuracy
* Strong communication skills
* Strong organizational skills
* Strong customer service skills
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
* Ability to work remotely from a designated home workspace
* Ability to provide focused, uninterrupted work during scheduled hours
### Preferred Qualifications
* Spanish and English bilingual fluency preferred
* Interest in personal finance and financial education
* Experience in customer service, counseling, financial services, housing support, debt resolution, collections, or client advocacy preferred
### Remote Work Requirements
* Hard-wired Ethernet internet connection required
* Minimum 200 Mbps internet speed for single-person households
* Minimum 400 Mbps internet speed for households with two or more people
* Dedicated private workspace with a door that closes
* Security camera required as part of workstation setup
