Job Description

The Credentialing & Privileging Specialist supports Lifepoint Health’s Credentialing Support Services team by managing provider credentialing, privileging, reappointment, and compliance documentation. This role processes provider application packages, verifies provider information, monitors licenses and malpractice coverage, maintains credentialing databases, and collaborates with facility medical staff offices.

This position requires strong accuracy, confidentiality, regulatory awareness, documentation management, and the ability to handle high-volume credentialing workflows in a fully remote environment. The specialist works with medical staff personnel, providers, and internal teams to ensure provider files are complete, timely, and compliant with federal, state, NCQA, and organizational standards.

### Key Responsibilities

* Process initial credentialing application packages
* Process provider reappointment applications
* Use MD-Staff to manage credentialing workflows
* Verify provider application accuracy
* Ensure compliance with federal and state standards
* Support NCQA credentialing standards
* Collaborate with facility medical staff offices
* Monitor provider medical licenses
* Monitor malpractice insurance status
* Track license and certification renewals
* Follow up on outstanding provider documentation
* Communicate with Medical Staff Personnel

### Requirements

* High School Diploma or equivalent
* 2+ years Medical Staff Credentialing and Privileging experience
* General understanding of healthcare regulatory compliance
* HIPAA knowledge
* Ability to apply policies and procedures
* Knowledge of business office standards
* Data entry experience
* Spreadsheet and documentation experience
* Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
* Ability to handle multiple projects
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to work independently in a remote environment
