This position works closely with patients and internal teams to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant collection of patient balances.
This role combines healthcare billing, collections, customer service, and accounts receivable responsibilities. Representatives handle inbound and outbound patient communications, review EOBs, process payments, document account activity, and work to resolve outstanding balances while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations and company policies.
### Key Responsibilities
* Review and prioritize accounts receivable for patient collections
* Handle inbound patient billing calls
* Conduct outbound collections follow-up on outstanding balances
* Process patient payments
* Follow up on delinquent accounts
* Analyze, document, and manage account activity
* Review account receivable correction requests
* Collaborate with internal teams to resolve account issues
* Escalate trends, concerns, and account issues when necessary
* Maintain compliance with healthcare, payer, and company requirements
* Deliver excellent customer service to patients and internal stakeholders
### Requirements
* High School Diploma or GED
* Must be 18 years of age or older
* 1+ year of experience in medical billing, pharmacy billing, collections, or healthcare revenue cycle management
* 1+ year of patient billing customer service experience via phone, email, or similar channels
* Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word
* Ability to read and interpret Explanation of Benefits (EOBs)
* Ability to work any shift between 10:00 AM and 7:00 PM CST
* Strong communication and customer service skills
### Preferred Qualifications
* Healthcare Revenue Cycle Management experience
* Infusion or Specialty Pharmacy experience
* Knowledge of NDC, ICD-10, HIPAA, and healthcare compliance regulations
* Knowledge of FDCPA-compliant collections practices
* Call center or voice-based customer service experience
* Experience with patient medical collections and payment resolution
