Job Description
The Associate Patient Call Representative supports SCA Health’s patient service and billing operations by assisting patients primarily through inbound and outbound calls. This role helps resolve patient inquiries, collect payments, explain Explanation of Benefits documents, verify insurance, provide estimates, update demographics, locate missing payments, and review accounts for adjustments or refunds.
This is a patient-facing healthcare customer service role with strong billing, accounts receivable, insurance verification, and payment resolution responsibilities. Representatives are expected to provide one-call resolution when possible, follow up on escalated issues, return patient voicemails within 24 hours, and meet defined performance metrics.
### Key Responsibilities
* Take inbound calls from patients
* Make outbound calls to patients
* Provide one-call resolution when possible
* Follow up on escalated or researched inquiries
* Return patient voicemails within 24 hours
* Explain Explanation of Benefits documents to patients
* Take patient payments
* Provide requested documentation and records
* Meet defined performance metrics
* Read and understand insurance contracts
* Review accounts for possible adjustments
* Review accounts for possible refunds
* Verify insurance coverage
* Provide patient estimates
* Verify and update demographic information
* Research and locate missing payments
* Review clinical information to determine if coding review is needed
### Requirements
* High School Diploma or GED required
* Strong customer service experience preferred
* Accounts receivable, billing, insurance verification, or customer service experience preferred
* Healthcare experience preferred
* Bilingual skills preferred
* Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with patients
* Ability to manage patient billing questions and payment-related concerns
* Ability to meet productivity and quality metrics
