Job Description
The Call Center Pharmacy Technician I serves as a liaison between patients, providers, pharmacists, and care teams to support prescription refill and medication renewal needs. This role is heavily phone-based and requires strong customer service, pharmacy knowledge, documentation accuracy, and the ability to meet call center performance metrics.
Technicians field inbound refill calls, make outbound calls to patients and pharmacies, investigate refill status, document requests in electronic systems, coordinate with care teams, and help remove barriers that prevent patients from receiving medications. This is a remote contact center position requiring a private workspace, hardwired internet, strong reliability, and active pharmacy technician licensure.
### Key Responsibilities
* Field inbound calls for prescription refill requests
* Investigate refill status
* Process medication renewal requests
* Contact patients to assist with medication refills
* Make outbound calls to pharmacies on behalf of patients
* Coordinate with care teams to resolve refill barriers
* Document patient requests in electronic platforms
* Capture all patient requests before ending calls
* Monitor and complete CareReq queue items
* Arrange transportation for center visits when needed
* Schedule off-cadence or requested patient appointments
* Warm transfer acute health concerns to triage nurse line
* Execute prescription requests according to current policies
* Meet call center performance metrics
* Maintain pharmacy technician licensure and certification
* Complete continuing education requirements
### Requirements
* Minimum 1 year retail pharmacy experience
* Active Pharmacy Technician License in state of residence
* Certified Pharmacy Technician certification required
* High School Diploma or equivalent
* Strong customer service skills
* Strong computer literacy
* Microsoft Office and Google Suite knowledge preferred
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
* Ability to meet call center productivity and quality standards
