Frontline Insurance is hiring a remote CAT Claims Specialist to investigate catastrophe-related property claims, determine coverage, coordinate inspections, communicate with insureds, manage reserves, issue claim payments, and negotiate claim resolutions.
Job Description
The CAT Claims Specialist is responsible for handling catastrophe-related property insurance claims from initial report through final resolution. This role involves investigating losses, analyzing policy coverage, coordinating inspections, documenting claim activity, communicating with policyholders, establishing reserves, issuing payments, and resolving disputes.
The specialist serves as the primary claim handler throughout the claim lifecycle and works closely with insureds, contractors, attorneys, adjusters, and outside experts. The role requires strong analytical skills, coverage interpretation, negotiation abilities, and extensive knowledge of property insurance claims handling.
### Key Responsibilities
#### Claims Investigation
* Investigate and verify loss details
* Analyze policy coverage and determine claim eligibility
* Review claim documentation and supporting evidence
* Determine investigative needs and engage experts when necessary
#### Claims Management
* Manage claims from first notice of loss through closure
* Coordinate property inspections
* Establish and update claim reserves
* Issue payments within authority limits
* Submit payment and reserve approvals
#### Communication
* Maintain ongoing communication with insureds
* Respond to emails, calls, and inquiries
* Provide status updates throughout the claims process
* Communicate with contractors, attorneys, and adjusters
#### Dispute Resolution
* Draft reservation of rights letters and denial recommendations
* Identify claims appropriate for mediation or appraisal
* Participate in mediations
* Negotiate settlements and claim resolutions
* Oversee appraisal processes
### Requirements
* Minimum 3 years of Property & Casualty insurance experience
* Strong claim investigation skills
* Experience handling property claims
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office
* Florida 620 or 720 Adjuster License required
* Ability to obtain AL, NC, SC, VA, and GA licenses within 90 days
### Preferred Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in a related field
* Catastrophe claims experience
* Property damage evaluation experience
* Alternative dispute resolution experience
