Job Description
The Claims Coordinator is responsible for helping policyholders who have been displaced from their homes secure temporary accommodations. This role involves searching for housing options, communicating with policyholders, coordinating logistics, confirming availability with vendors, negotiating terms and pricing, processing furniture needs, and preparing claim-related documentation.
The position requires frequent communication with policyholders, vendor partners, insurance carriers, and internal teams. Claims Coordinators must manage a high volume of incoming calls, provide immediate support, update internal databases, and apply critical thinking to resolve each policyholder’s temporary housing needs.
### Key Responsibilities
* Search and locate temporary housing options for displaced policyholders
* Communicate with policyholders to understand accommodation needs
* Coordinate logistics for policyholders to review housing options
* Connect policyholders through YourHomelink with approved insurance carriers
* Communicate with National Account Managers for carrier approval
* Contact vendor partners to confirm availability and accommodation details
* Negotiate housing terms, pricing, fees, and deposits
* Process furniture order needs for housing claims
* Present accommodation options for approval
* Process required paperwork for temporary housing placements
* Complete fair rental value requests
* Extend accommodations and facilitate relocations when needed
* Update internal databases and claim records
* Communicate claim details to all involved parties
* Respond quickly to high volumes of incoming calls
* Support special projects and backup team needs
* Provide strong customer service to policyholders and vendor partners
### Requirements
* 1–3 years of experience in property management, real estate, leasing, temporary housing, or a related field
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
* High attention to detail
* Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
* Strong organizational and time management skills
* Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
* Experience using multiple communication channels such as mobile apps, texting, Salesforce, or CRM systems
* Ability to work in a fully remote environment
### Preferred Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Communication, Business Administration, or related field
* Real Estate License preferred
* Temporary housing, insurance claims, vendor coordination, or relocation experience preferred
### Schedule Requirements
* Full-time schedule
* Flexible availability may be required
* Evenings, weekends, and on-call responsibilities may be needed
