Job Description
The HR Consultant supports Texas school districts, regional service centers, and community colleges by providing HR guidance, policy support, training, project management, and consulting services. This role involves managing HR consulting projects, preparing recommendations for executive briefings and school board presentations, researching regulatory developments, and creating clear reference materials for member organizations.
Some openings may focus specifically on HR and compensation consulting, including designing compensation plans, analyzing data, advising school executives, and presenting compensation-related training. This position requires strong HR expertise, project management skills, Excel analysis, public speaking ability, and frequent travel within Texas.
### Key Responsibilities
* Provide HR guidance and policy support to school districts and education organizations
* Manage assigned HR consulting projects independently
* Prepare recommendations for executive briefings and school board presentations
* Develop and present training sessions, webinars, and conference presentations
* Research regulatory developments and update HR resources
* Write clear reports, reference materials, and member-facing guidance
* Support staffing reviews, HR reviews, and consulting engagements
* Analyze and summarize data for HR decision-making
* Collaborate with consultants and analysts to improve member services
* Advise school leaders on HR, compensation, and problem-solving strategies
* Support compensation plan design and implementation when assigned
* Travel frequently within Texas for member support and presentations
### Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree in HR, Education, Math, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience
* Minimum 5 years of professional experience in human resources, school administration, or related field
* Strong project management and organizational skills
* Advanced Excel analysis skills
* Ability to analyze, interpret, and summarize data clearly
* Strong written communication and report-writing skills
* Ability to present information to large groups and public audiences
* Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment
* Ability to manage changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
* Must reside in Texas
* Ability to travel frequently within Texas
### Preferred Qualifications
* Public school experience strongly preferred
* Compensation consulting experience preferred for HR and Compensation Consultant opening
* Experience supporting school districts, regional service centers, or community colleges
* HR policy, staffing, training, and compliance experience
