Remote Senior Concept Designer

Free People is seeking a Senior Concept Designer to join its Concept team, which serves as the brand’s in-house trend service. This role focuses on researching fashion trends, developing seasonal creative direction, and creating visual content that helps communicate trends and concepts to design teams and cross-functional partners.

The Senior Concept Designer will research trend direction across color, print, graphics, embellishment, wash, fabric, silhouette, shoes, and design details as they relate to the Free People customer. This position will also compile visual inspiration, build strong trend guides, create impactful presentations, and support seasonal concept packet development.

This role requires a strong creative perspective, deep understanding of the Free People brand, and the ability to translate runway, street style, art, design, apparel, influencer, and cultural trends into clear visual direction. The position also involves using AI tools to build imagery for presentations and working closely with design teams on trend presentation timelines, publication needs, and sample distribution.

Additional responsibilities include attending wholesale, retail, and sales meetings to stay informed on selling trends and category needs. The Senior Concept Designer will also serve as a leader and mentor within the Concept team.

Qualified candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in Fashion, Graphic Design, Merchandising, or a related field, along with at least eight years of experience in fashion design, print design, concept design, or trend forecasting. Strong digital presentation skills, Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, CAD, Midjourney, and other generative AI skills are highly valued.

This is a full-time, remote-eligible opportunity with Free People. The role is based at the company’s Philadelphia headquarters, but remote arrangements may be considered for well-qualified senior-level candidates, with Eastern Standard Time zone preferred.
