AR Billing Specialist at Modular Genius

Modular Genius is hiring an AR Billing Specialist to support billing, accounts receivable, customer invoicing, payment posting, and financial documentation within a construction-focused business environment. This full-time exempt position may be considered for an onsite office setting as well as hybrid or remote work eligibility.

This AR Billing Specialist role fits best as a low-phone accounting and billing position. While communication with customers, collections teams, account owners, and internal departments occurs regularly, the primary focus centers on preparing invoices, reviewing billing documentation, applying payments, researching account discrepancies, and supporting month-end close activities.

Daily responsibilities include preparing, reviewing, and issuing customer invoices according to contract terms, pricing, and billing schedules. The AR Billing Specialist also verifies supporting documentation such as purchase orders, delivery confirmations, service records, and timesheets to confirm billable items are accurate and complete.

Additional duties include maintaining customer account records in billing and ERP systems, applying cash receipts, researching unapplied payments, resolving short pays, managing payment variances, and monitoring accounts receivable aging. The role also supports dispute resolution by investigating billing discrepancies, issuing credit memos, preparing rebills, and processing approved adjustments.

The AR Billing Specialist contributes to month-end close by preparing billing reports, reconciling billing activity, maintaining audit-ready documentation, and meeting cut-off deadlines. The role also supports internal controls, documentation standards, and process improvement efforts designed to increase billing accuracy and improve customer experience.

Candidates with accounting, accounts receivable, construction billing, project-based billing, electronic invoicing, ERP systems, Sage 300 CRE, Sage Intacct, AIA billing, or schedule of values experience may align well with this opportunity. Strong Excel skills, attention to detail, confidentiality, time management, and independent work habits are important for success.
