Job Description

ACU-Serve is seeking a DME Billing and Claims Specialist to support healthcare reimbursement, insurance collections, denial management, and accounts receivable operations for durable medical equipment providers. This position focuses on resolving unpaid claims, researching payer requirements, identifying claim issues, and helping clients improve reimbursement outcomes.

This DME Billing and Claims Specialist role fits best as a moderate-phone healthcare collections position. Team members regularly communicate with insurance carriers, payer representatives, provider representatives, and other stakeholders while researching denied claims and pursuing payment resolution. Although much of the work involves research and documentation review, regular phone communication is a core component of the role.

Daily responsibilities include reviewing open accounts receivable, researching denied or rejected claims, investigating claims with no response, reviewing payer guidelines, analyzing payment issues, and identifying opportunities to improve collections performance. Specialists also review Explanation of Benefits (EOBs), Remittance Advice documents, payer manuals, and insurance requirements to determine the most effective path toward claim resolution.

The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to identify patterns involving delayed payments, non-payment issues, and reimbursement challenges. Employees work closely with payer representatives and internal teams to resolve claim issues, escalate concerns when necessary, and support revenue cycle performance.

Candidates with experience in durable medical equipment billing, insurance collections, healthcare reimbursement, denial management, accounts receivable, medical claims processing, and payer communications may align well with this opportunity. Familiarity with HCPCS coding, modifier combinations, insurance denials, Atlas software, and DME claims workflows is strongly preferred.

ACU-Serve supports healthcare providers nationwide by delivering billing, collections, and revenue cycle management solutions. This position offers an opportunity to work within a specialized area of healthcare billing while helping clients improve revenue recovery and reduce claim delays.

Overall, this role is best suited for experienced DME billing professionals who enjoy claim research, denial resolution, collections work, and payer communications within a healthcare revenue cycle environment.
